Estate Administration
We attend to the winding-up of the deceased’s estate in accordance with the deceased’s Will or in terms of an Intestate Succession and all the applicable legislation.
- Meeting with family members and beneficiaries to collect the necessary documents
- Explain the process, timeframes and how the various assets in the estate are dealt with
- Collect all relevant information and documentation to report the matter to the Master of the High Court to obtain Letters of Executorship as soon as possible.
- Determining claims against or in favour of the estate
- Value all of the assets in the estate
- Ensure compliance with all legal, accounting and taxation frameworks.
- Ensure that all debts are paid and assets are distributed
- Obtain final clearance from SARS and the Master of the High Court.
EXECUTOR’S FEES
Executor’s fees are set by regulation:
- Executor’s remuneration: 3.5% calculated on the gross value of assets as at death.
- Income collection fee: 6% calculated on all post-death revenue.
